Red Carpet Eye Candy…{2}

Hiya, people!  WELL, I finally got around to replying to y'all's lovely comments (actually, I'll be doing that as I write this, hehe).

Coming off of Cinderella Week, I thought p'raps a nice new commentary on some lovely red carpet dresses might be in order.  Shall we?

Sadly, I'm not a huge fan of most of what Hailee Steinfeld wears for the red carpet, but THIS DRESS.  Phew.  T'is beautiful:  a gorgeous color for her, the accents seem to fit her personality well, and the styling is also awesome.

I usually prefer a full-on, floor-length gown for the red carpet, but this is adorable.  Well done, Bailey, well done!  (Also, did you guys know that Hailee Steinfeld and Bailey Madison are friends?  The pictures of the premiere of Romeo and Juliet are rather precious.)  Anyway, I love the detail at the top of the dress, and the twist the mini cape puts on it.

Beautiful!  I love the styling choices Cate Blanchett made.  I'm usually not big on this color for a dress, but I really like it here.

UM.  YES.  (Okay, the leg slit might be pushing it a bit, but still.  It's gorgeous.)

Okay, I know I already posted a picture of this dress, but IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIIIIIIEEEE!  Ahem.  It's just so effortless and elegant.  And that color is spot-on PERFECT for Lupita Nyong'o.

Dang.  The glitter, people, THE GLITTER.  It's so sparkly and lovely!

This is the dress Elle Fanning wore to the Maleficent premiere (in case the poster in the background didn't clue you in), and I've loved it ever since I first saw it on her!  Iddn't it pwetty?!?!  The details (tiny littler flower appliqués) are so whimsical and delightful, and so well-befitting the Sleeping Beauty :)

What do you all think of these dresses?
Had you seen most of them before?
Do you have a favorite "go-to" red carpet lady?

  1. Eeep! They're all SO GORGEOUS! I especially love Cate Blanchett's dress. She picks some lovely dresses for the red carpet <3 I also love the red one and Lupita's and ALL OF THEM! I JUST LOVE THEM ALL SOOOO MUCH!

I also wanted to let you know that I got my blog started. I think (?) I mentioned I was planning on starting one, but I can't remember. Anyway, I'm attaching the link in case you're interested or have time :)

  2. Ohhhhhh . . . what pretty dresses! I think I have to say I like Cate Blanchett's best--the color is just perfect.

Daisy Ridley is rapidly becoming my favorite-red-carpet-actress, actually. Have you SEEN some of the dresses she's been wearing lately to all the Star Wars events?? The girl has style. No kidding.

This is one of the best ones: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/12/27/14/2FA16EE900000578-0-image-m-56_1451228026726.jpg

    1. It's such a lovely color for Cate, no?

Ahhh, yes! She definitely has got a style sense. That purple is lovely on her! I'm not a huuuuuge fan of the cut and style of some of the dresses, but I do like how geometrical and interesting they are.

    2. Interesting--that's the word! I don't think most of what I've seen her wearing would look good on ME, but they seem to suit her really well . . . which is why I love them :-)

    3. Exactly--not what I would wear, but she pulls them off!

  3. Red Carpet Eye Candy? OHYESPLEASE! :D
Hailee's is so red and silky and that skirt....wow. <3
Oh, Bailey's is very unique...I've never seen anything like it!
Gah, Cate Blanchett ALWAYS looks amazing. ;) She looks super good in that colour. I think I would look awful in that colour myself, but I don't look anything like her. Hehe. ;D
Wow, yes, I DO like that purple dress...it almost looks like a costume ladies wore in Ancient Greece.
I love the skirt on the blue dress! (Not that top part, but the colour and the skirt!! Wow!!)
    Glitters. Sparkles. WOW. That's...bright.
Oh, Elle's is my favourite out of all of these! :D I think she was about my age when she wore that (although I think it looks a LITTLE grown up for a young girl...still, it's gorgeous). I love the shoulder line look, and the blue and the skirt and the flowers and the detail and EVERYTHING. She has very pale skin, though, so I don't think it would look half as good on me, 'cause I have dark/olive skin. Oh well, I doubt I'll be needing that dress for a red carpet event for myself, anytime soon, haha. ;P
And just so you know, I only remember seeing Cate's dress (on TV, actually) and Elle's dress before! But I still looked at them the most. :P

    1. Meg, I KNOW, RIGHT?! I think I would look awful in that color, too, but she has the perfect coloring for it!

Yes, doesn't it just bring the word "Grecian" to mind?

Haha, indeed ;) Don't you just wish you could go to a red carpet event just to wear/see the dresses?! Ahh, good point. It DOES look a BIT "grown up", perhaps--I adore that look, but I keep feeling like there's something just the littlest bit "off" about it…maybe that's it?

  4. Oh my!!! As soon as I read the title, I frantically clicked on it. :) OOOhhh, red carpet dresses are the best. (Most of the time. ) Yet another reason to be an actress. :)

I actually love all of these. With a few minor adjustments, I would wear all of them.

First one: Not normally a fan of red, but this is effortlessly gorgeous. And it's modest to!

Second one: Aww, this is so cute!! I love the cape. And the flowers.

Third one: Cate Blanchett always has impeccable style. I love that dress.

I love Lupita and Elle's.. They are both wonderful. The others are lovely to of course.

Thanks for this post, I love these ones. :)

  5. MAH FAVOURITE TOPIC. :-D

Wow, that first red one is QUITE somethin. And the cape-one, too.
CATE BALNCHETTS AND LUPITA'S. YES. :-D

I'm also a big biiig fan of Lily James' fashion sense. I LOVE this dress she wore to the Golden Globes a few weeks ago. http://cdn-img.people.com/emstag/styles/760x735/s3/i/2016/01/10/lily-james-drupal.jpg?itok=BEa3zFpe
And I also LOOOVE the dress she wore to the Cinderella premier - you know, the blue one.

  11. I LOVE Lupita's dress. The color and the cut of it is stunning.

And then the Sparkle Dress (that's it's official name now) is my other favorite. It would be like wearing stars.

A tad off topic, but I finally watched Amazing Grace, and it was just as good as I thought it was going to be if not better. It was so moving and powerful while remaining (for the most part) lighthearted. Iz beautiful. I want to rewatch it!
