Meanwhile, in Rivendell . . .

I wanted my last post for the Lovely Blog Party to be something fun and lighthearted, so I thought I should share some romantic fanvids that give me all the gooey feelings.  It was only after I began searching out and looking through said fanvids that I realized that "fun and lighthearted" might not apply to all of them. :-P  A lot of them are nothing if not uber-dramatic and angsty and Very Adolescent Fangirl, if you know what I mean, their great quality notwithstanding.   But I still love them, so I'm still gonna do it.  Because I think you'll like some of them too.  And because I am a fangirl, after all. :-P I decided that for this post, I was going to limit myself to one music video per couple, and that I was only going to share videos I hadn't used in a previous post.  So, these should all be new.  Naturally, there will be spoilers in basically all of these, and there's minor swearing in a few.  Watch at your own risk, and all that. :) Hope

I thought I had finished writing and scheduling all my posts for this month, and then, lo and behold, Kiri Liz of Lianne Taimenlore goes and creates a romantical tag a few days before Valentine's Day.  But not just any romantical tag--a tag that pairs the traits of fictional couples with various unique chocolate combinations.  I couldn't very well pass that up, now, could I?? GUUUUUYYYYYSSSSS. Today I'm going to be talking about Tom Harte & Sun Fu from the Western Broken Trail .  And there will be much flailing and fangirling and sissy stuff, because when it comes to this movie: Seriously.  It's one of my top ten most-favorite movies.  Possibly in the top three .   (I mean, I don't know.  But it might be.) I LOVE IT SO, SO, SO MUCH. Like, I feel like you don't understand how much I love it.  And because I just recently re-watched it, I'm definitely Feeling The Need to rave about it here; and since one of the things that makes it one of my favorite-ever-in-the-whole-world movies is the relationship between Tom and Sun Fu, I thought this Lovely Blog Party would be a good time to do it. Happy Valentine's Day, my loves! Here I am to answer the tag for this blog party. Isn't it romantic to be serenaded? NO.  Oh my goodness, no.  I do not understand this historic fad. :-P I mean, if someone prerecords a song and you listen to it via a video or something, that can be sweet and romantic.  But sitting in front of someone while they sing a romantic song that is specifically directed at you?  No, thank you.  (Not for me, anyway.) Isn't it romantic to have pet names for each other? Yes!  As long as the names are nice and not gross or overly weird, and as long as moderation is used.  (PLEASE don't be a couple who never calls each other by your given names.  That's just obnoxious.)  Isn't it romantic if he wants you to look him in the eye? I suppose?  But, then again, several other lovely participants have pointed out some of the less savory consequences of such an idea (i.e. awkwardness, forcing something, etc.).  So perhaps

I love musical theatre.  (I hope we all knew that, even though I don't talk about musicals on this blog as much as I could.)  I like daydreaming about performing in my dream roles, and I love listening to the romantic centerpieces of many of my favorite soundtracks.  So, since Cordy is hosting this wonderful blog party, I decided now would be a perfect time to give musicals some blog space. These are my ten favorite love songs from musical theatre as of now.  As with almost any of my top ten lists, they are subject to change any moment. :-P #10. "In a Crowd of Thousands" - Anastasia (Derek and Christy are the cutest, goodbye.) I like the melody and the duet elements of this one.  It all flows and rolls together well, and it's a neat moment with Anya remembering who she is. #9.
