Drifting Leaves: Autumn Tag Challenge
Happy late October, dear reader! I hope that your autumn has been a bright and gentle one so far.

Hannah over at Inkling Corner has very kindly tagged me for a fall-themed tag; the perfect way to get a quick post in before the month is quite over. (I've lapsed in my once-monthly posting schedule this year, and I'm honestly fine with that, but I think I'd still like to keep up with at least semi-regular posting. We'll see what the rest of this year and then 2026 bring.) Thanks, Hannah! ♥
The Rules
2. Acknowledge the person who tagged you (above!)
3. Tag others and comment on their blog to let them know! (will do!)
4. Slip into autumn vibes (have done!)
My favorite season is spring. Youngest and oldest, gentlest and wildest, green like you wouldn't believe. I love it so much. (But I love autumn as well.)
2. What is your favourite thing that you do each autumn?
Rejoice that the unrelenting torment that is summer is over. 😂
(But besides that: start listening to my autumnal playlists, start reading my autumnal books, start watching my autumnal shows, start taking autumnal drives, and start hiking autumnal trails.)
3. What are a couple of your favourite autumn memories?
I have a general, vague memory of time spent with my siblings outdoors on a chilly autumn evening, hearing the crunch of the leaves and then coming inside out of the cool, dark yard to the bright, warm kitchen, and that's a fun one. Other favorite autumn memories would be going on a hayride with friends, visiting New England in October with some of my family, and various gorgeous autumnal hikes.

4. What book most reminds you of the autumn? Movie?
I'm so glad you asked. 😉 There are several, but you can read about a lot of them in this post.
5. What is your favourite drink for the season?
Just some kind of chai/chai latte situation. I'm not that big on hot beverages in general, but I always enjoy a chai.
6. What is one new thing you want to do this autumn?
I don't know that there's anything new, as such, that I'm hoping to get done before the season is over. I have a couple of crafting projects that I may try to begin before winter really sets in. I have a couple of cross-stitch kits that I'd like to start sooner rather than later. I may paint an autumnal hobbit-hole or wreath watercolor, or I may save that for next autumn.
7. Do you decorate for the autumn? If so, how soon? If not, why?
I do! Nothing too crazy, just swapping out some of the wall art and a very few knick-knacks around my apartment. I do that sometime in September — usually later in the month, because even though I use the meteorological method of counting the seasons (which means that autumn starts for me on September 1st), the weather where I live is typically still very summery until mid- to late-September at the very earliest.
8. What is your favourite way to celebrate Thanksgiving?
By spending time with family and then either reading or hiking or both — and possibly doing something to help usher in the Christmas season later in the day!

9. What colour makes you think most of autumn?
It's the autumnal palette as a whole for me, really, not any one color individually. But I guess if I had to choose one color that I do associate more exclusively with autumn, it would be a burnt orange.
10. Type up a list of ten words or names that encapsulate the season of autumn for you.
woodsmoke ● flannel ● pumpkin ● quest ● bonfire ● maple ● wistful ● September ● leaves ● path ● umber
