It's heeeeeere, the phaaaantom of the oooopperaaaa!

Ahem, no, not really.  The Great Book Giveaway Bonanza, however, IS here!  (I'm a little hyper right now because I've been quite excited for this for a while.  And…)

I'm shameless, I know.

But anywho!  Click the link I provided, and you'll go to a page on Hamlette's blog that links to all the participating blogs, so you can check out all the giveaways at once:)

Here are my giveaway options!  (*Note*  I'm sorry to say that, for financial reasons, I have to restrict this to US residents only:( )

Books (Please note--all of these books were bought used and still have their price stickers on them, which I can try to remove, if you prefer, except Zia, which was bought new.)

Apologies for the poor picture quality.

The Last Trail by Zane Grey--I picked this up at a library sale; good condition.

Zia by Scott O'Dell--This is a sequel to Island of the Blue Dolphins.  It is gently used, but in great condition.

Kaiulani:  The People's Princess (from the Royal Diaries series) by Ellen Emerson White--Bought used, but in good condition.

The Thief and the Beanstalk (a Further Tales adventure) by P. W. Catanese--An interesting twist on Jack and the Beanstalk, it sadly is a bit beat up.  Some ruffled/curled pages and bent corners, especially one rather noticeable on the front cover.

The Wanderer by Sharon Creech--Fairly good condition, with a few dents and minor bends.

Moonblood (third book in the Tales of Goldstone Wood series) by Anne Elisabeth Stengl--Used, but good condition similar to The Wanderer (perhaps a bit better).

The Redemption of Sarah Cain by Beverly Lewis--A movie tie-in edition with color photos and a note from the author while on set.  In good condition.

A Gift to Remember by Melissa Hill--Fine condition, except that there are some faded marks on the back of the cover and a 'grimy' spot on the front cover that looks as though it were the remains of a sticker.

Bookmarks (Can't absolutely guarantee durability, since I don't have a laminator or anything of that sort, but they seem to hold up pretty well.  Made with glue or photo splits.)

When I heard that we could include book-related items, I was quite excited.  Prepare for bookmarks!:D

Collection #1 is related to movies/tv shows.  From left:  BBC Robin Hood.  This one has a picture of Robin and Marian at the bottom and has a bunch of RH quotes and feels and such:)  The prominent quote is, "We were fighters and I'm proud."  ~ The Princess Bride (Inigo Montoya).  This includes his famous line:  "Hello.  My name is Inigo Montoya.  You killed my father.  Prepare to DIE!"  ~  The Princess Bride (Vizzini)  This quote is, "Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?  Morons."  ~  August Rush  Quote:  "You know what music is?  It's God's little reminder that there's something else besides us in this universe."  ~  Gilmore Girls  Fun quote:  "We're almost there, and nowhere near it.  All that matters is we're going."

Collection #2 is related to books and book quotes.  From left, row by row:  Ella Enchanted:  "blue as midnight with a white sash"  Utterly random; for some reason, I liked that quote and how it fit with the color blue and the white.  The Book Thief:  "I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right."    Les Misèrables:  "To die is nothing; but it is terrible not to live."  The Tale of Despereaux:  "The world is dark, and light is precious.  Come closer, dear reader.  You must trust me.  I am telling you a story."  (This one has '3d' corners, just so you know.)  Second row:  The Princess Bride:  "Her heart was a secret garden and the walls were very high."  The Lord of the Rings:  "I wonder if we shall ever be put into songs or tales.  We're in one, of course, but I mean:  put into words…told by the fireside, or read out of a great big book with red and black letters…"  Ralph Waldo Emerson:  "Fiction reveals truths that reality obscures."  (With picture of '08 Elinor reading.)  Pride and Prejudice:  "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife."  (I copied that directly out of the book, and so I kept the punctuation, even though it bugs me a little.)

And there you are!  I tried to use different 'fonts' when writing these, so some are chunky and some are weird and some are just normal;)

Now, to enter.  Just leave a comment telling me which book or bookmark you'd most like if you win (please feel free to enter all three giveaways!) and your email address so I can contact you in case you win.  If you don't want your email address out there, you can simply delete your comment after you post it (it'll be sent to my email anyway).  I will draw a winner a week from now, June 22nd.   I thiiiink that's it.  Have at it!

Don't forget to check out Hamlette's page to find all the other giveaways!

  7. Happy birthday, Olivia darling!

Wow, I find that so cool that we both made bookmarks. ;-) Yours are awesome! My favorite is the Elinor Dashwood one, but the one with the Les Mis quote comes veeerrry close, because that's one of my all-time favorite quotes.

As for books: Zane Grey! Woo-hoo! The Last Trail would be my first choice. Also The Wanderer looks kinda interesting.

Thanks for hosting this, Olivia! :-)

  14. You do not need to enter me into the drawings, but I just wanted to say what you've put together is lovely! I would love to participate in things like this, but we don't have a P.O.Box, and I am always hesitant about giving out our home address online. But I hope you have a lot of fun, and good luck to those that enter- the books look good!

  17. Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! How exciting. :-D I'd love to have a birthday in Spring. *sigh* Mine's in the dead heat of summer. Pool parties are about all I can get. ;-) (I did have an "Unbirthday Party" in winter for my 10th though, and no, I'm not a fan of Alice in Wonderland. :-P
I can totally understand about cost and stuff, but it looks like a fantastic giveaway! :-)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
