IT'S PARTY TIME

Break out your Sherwood green and your bows and arrows, peeps, because we're doing this.

Yes, indeed.  The day has come.  Some of you may remember that once upon a time I asked if y'all would go for a Robin Hood blog party at some point.  Years rolled by (well, nearly two), and now, lo and behold, out of the blue, I have decided that I am going to host a Robin Hood blog party after all!

But not just for my own personal RH love, the BBC version -- no, no.  Magnanimous soul that I am, I shall be opening this up to all versions of Robin Hood!

I know these are not all the versions.  Hush.

The low-down:
~ The party will be held May 23-28, 2017, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
~ I need participants!  Feel free to write reviews, character posts, games, rants, etc.!
~ During the party, please come back to THIS POST and leave a comment (or comments) with the links to your posts so that I can collect them all and list them in the closing post.  And don't worry, I will obnoxiously remind you in each of my posts. ;-p  (Also, if anyone knows how to set up a "formal" link-up, please let me know! ;D)

I have a few buttons for you, should you like to spread the word! :D

I'm excited!  How about you?!

I'm back. Would it be okay if I did a review of the book, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle, along with the Errol Flynn movie version (tell me if that is hogging)?

Today I FINALLY got my older sister to watch the first episode of Robin Hood BBC!!! But, she was determined NOT to like it! *pout* But I looked over at her while she was watching it and she was smiling. Hopefully I can get her to watch the rest!!!!!

I was reading all the comments here, and don't worry, I had to look up the Richard Todd one too.

      *hugs*

      Delete
    3. No, that's not hogging at all -- please, go for it! I wondered briefly if I might read Howard Pyle's book in time to review it, but I decided against it, so please do!!

AAAAHHH! What fun! Aw, shucks, well, I hope it draws her in in spite of herself, haha. ;) (Well, that is, I hope her feelings are not as lacerated by it as ours were/are, but you know what I mean.)

      Oh, good, I'm not alone!

      *tackle-hugs*

    4. Depends on how co-operative my library will be, I might or might not get the Errol Flynn version out. I might have to go with the *blah* Patrick Bergin *blah* version.

I got her to watch episode 2! She still is being reluctant, but, she is catching on! (Yep, I know what you mean.)

      Yep! :)

      *more tackle-hugs*

      Delete
    5. I totally get that, about libraries being uncooperative. :-P Haha! Patrick Bergin . . . that sounds both familiar and unfamiliar, if you know what I mean . . . I can't place it, though. :-P

Oh, yay! And after all, the episodes generally improve after the first couple ones, I think, don't they?

      :D <3

      Delete
    6. They weren't very cooperative, but I was able to get this review out of the Patrick Bergin version:

      I think so!

    1. Yes!!! (Gahh, you poor dear . . . S2 is rough in some places. Well, they all are, to be honest.) Yep, books are definitely up for discussion!

Oh, and by the way, I'm really sorry I missed your Beauty and the Beast week! I didn't even know about it till I saw a post of Hamlette's, but I probably wouldn't have been able to participate anyway. Still, though, it was sad :( I DO plan to get over to your blog soon and get semi-caught up, though!! Sorry I've been absent so long!

      Delete
    2. I haven't gotten to the rough places in Season 2 yet, but I hear they're there, so I'm a bit nervous. ;) Great! Some of the books are fun. :D

Oh, that's alright! :) Of course it would have been great to have you, but I completely understand that you would have been too busy to participate. Mid-March can be really hectic(at least for me, anyways). No, no! Don't apologize for that. :D I 100% get "falling behind" on some blogs.

      Delete
    3. *ahem* Yes, well . . . Yes, they are. That's one way of putting it. *cough* Oh, yeah! I haven't really read much of any, but I'm interested in "Hood." You've read that one, right?

Thanks for understanding! Yeah, I'm hoping I can work out some sort of schedule for keeping up better, but we'll see. ;)

    4. I did and I didn't care for it very much, but I know others really enjoyed it.

Speaking of which...*ahem* I'm so sorry I haven't done ANYthing to participate this week. We've had visitors and I just started a new job so things have been hectic, but I will definitely fill out the tag before Sunday. :)

  7. Ohhh! How delightful! Blogs parties are so much fun! :D I can't say I'm an actual, out-and-out fan of Robin Hood--I mean I like the Disney film starring Richard Todd, but that's about as far as it goes (and you didn't even include that one in your post! *pout*). (Haha. Just teasing. I really don't mind. ;)) Uh...where was I going with this? Oh, whatever. What I mean to say is, I may not be an actual Robin Hood fan, but...I'm going to enjoy this blog party anyway so...bring it on, girl!! :D

(Have you already written a lot of your posts? I just know for myself that if ever I was to do a blog party I'd have to write a lot of my posts before I announced it...otherwise the deadline would stress me out! ;))

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Haha! The only Disney version I'm familiar with (other than the "Princess of Thieves" spin-off) is the animated one, so I can't say I've had the pleasure of seeing the Richard Todd version. But . . . perhaps you could enlighten me through a post?? ;) (No pressure, though.)

(Hehe, I'm slowly but surely working on them -- right now I feel like I'm on a pretty good track for getting all the posts done before it starts, but I AM a little stressed about the reviews. There are a few different ones I'd like to review, and reviews usually take me a lot longer, for whatever reason. So anyway, here's hoping it'll all come together!! ;) I just graduated today, actually, so hopefully I'll have a lot more time on my hands, haha!)

      Delete
    2. Oh, you really must see it sometime! It's not perhaps as epic as some of the other versions, but it's a very enjoyable film. :) As to my writing a post about it...ohhh! you've given me something to think about. (I'm actually really bad at writing reviews though, so I won't promise anything. Heehee. ;))

(Glad the posts are coming together. And I hope the reviews work out for you. Writing reviews is HARD. At least in my experience. :P And yay!! Congratulations on your graduation!! That's splendid!! :D)

  14. I'm SO IN! I'm already doing a blogathon that weekend, but I will contribute SOMETHING. And put a button on my blog sidebar, etc.

The easiest way I've found for link-ups is Mr. Linky. The basic version is free, though I use it for most of my blog parties and such, so I've got a paid membership that lets you do a few more things.

    Replies
    1. What would you think of me hosting a small give-away for this? I don't know if I have time to finish reading "Hood" to review it, though that would be ideal, and I also don't know if I'll be able to review a movie version, which would also be ideal, but I'm pretty sure I could toss together a fun Robin Hood giveaway!

      Delete
    2. Hamlette, thank you so much!! First, for the heads-up about Mr. Linky (I'll have to look into it, though I may just be lazy and make people comment their links, heh), and second for your idea of the giveaway! As a matter of fact *cough,* I will confess that the thought of whether you might decide to host a giveaway did cross my mind a few times *cough cough*. Obviously, no pressure, but it'd be awesome if you wanted to! You always host the best giveaways.
