A Chocolate Book Tag

You know how I have that problem with stealing borrowing book tags from other people's blogs even if they haven't tagged me?  Yeah.  It's a problem, but it's chronic, and it's not going away.

So, I'm borrowing a tag from The Adventures of An Elven Princess that's all about books (and chocolate).

Dark chocolate (a book that covers a dark topic):

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  Yes, forever and ever, amen.

White chocolate (a light and humorous read):

The Princess Bride by William Goldman.  It's hilarious, it's adorable, it's clever…in short, it's wonderful.

Milk chocolate (a book with a lot of hype that you're dying to read):

Hmm…I suppose I'll go with the Tales of Goldstone Wood series by Anne Elisabeth Stengl.  I've heard that it's wonderful, and I'd really like to try it.

Caramel-filled chocolate (a book that makes you feel all gooey inside):

Haha, that's fun.  Probably Rose in Bloom by Louisa May Alcott.  All the warm fuzzies:D

Wafer-less Kit-Kat (a book that surprised you):

Beowulf or Pride and Prejudice.

Snickers (a book you're going nuts about):

Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe.  I'll be gushing for a long, long time;D

Hot chocolate with mini marshmallows (a book you turn to for comfort):

Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie.  (Don't laugh!)

A box of chocolates (a series you feel has something for everyone):

I think the Chronicles of Narnia series has something for everyone if they'd try it, but unfortunately I do know that some people don't care for it *sob*

This was fun!

  1. Haha. I steal tags too. All the time. ;-P

Oh, is Ivanhoe really that good? It seems like I heard somewhere that it was lame. (I really want to see the movie with Anthony Andrews, though!)

Yeaahhhh..... I personally don't care for Narnia. Soary. ;-( But that's okay, we all have our different interests, and all that.

    1. Heehee, partners in crime;)

YES! I have to admit, though, that I don't know exactly WHY I love it so much. The plot is a bit rushed, because a lot of time is taken in description, and most of the characters are rather underdeveloped, but there's just something about it that draws you in. I suppose it's Scott's amazing gift for prose. So, yes, I'd definitely recommend it, but as you say, we all have different interests and tastes and such:)

Haha, that's fine. If we all liked the same things, the world would be a rather boring, carbon-copy place, would it not?:-P

    2. I have read some of the Narnia books, and thought they were interesting and full of symbolism and all that good stuff, but the several I read did not pull me in to want to read more. However, I really love the Narnia movies. I think even though C.S. Lewis was awesomely creative, especially for those that choose to view it all through eyes from a Christianity standpoint, but I find his writing slightly dry for me. So I can see how some might not like them.

    3. I understand;) To be honest, I don't think I've actually come across a series that has "something for everyone"--this was just the closest I could think of:D

    4. I quite enjoyed the Anthony Andrews version of Ivanhoe. I liked it a lot better than the Robert Taylor version.

And the book is lots of swashbuckling fun!

  3. And I refuse to do this tag because I absolutely love chocolate and discovered within the past couple of months I cannot have caffeine anymore due to health reasons. : (
And it makes me so sad....

  4. Again, tried leaving a comment.....
I've seen this tag before and it looks so fun! I may have to steal it from you, sometime! ;) (And you're quite welcome to steal my new tag in return if you wish. Don't feel you have to, though! :) )

Comments make my day. Seriously. I'd be so happy if you commented. :)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
