Does your TBR list ever make you feel claustrophobic?  For some reason, the longer my TBR list gets, the antsier I become.  I don't like the feeling of having a to-read shelf on Goodreads that's full of casually selected possibilities, because it makes it feel cluttered, to me.  I don't know entirely why.  But lately, I've started going on routine purges of said shelf, ruthlessly clicking away books that I have no real interest in ever reading but had automatically shelved because friends loved them. That's another thing I've realized lately: the majority of the reading plans I made before, like, the last two years were made in the sweet innocence of youth, back when I was just getting into blogging and meeting the online story community.  If a friend who liked something else that I liked (i.e. a movie) had good things to say about a book, I'd often mark it as to-read without really thinking about whether it was likely to be a good fit for me. It's been a while since we've done one of these!  Primarily because it took waiting through January to have actually watched enough new-to-me movies to justify one. 😄 I've decided to start including the MPAA rating for each title in these posts, because usually there's a wide range of content and, while I don't want to take the time to describe all such concerns in detail, I also don't want anybody to go into a movie blindly and then regret it. Several months ago, a friend asked me if I'd ever thought about which actors I would cast if I was creating a film version of Till We Have Faces .  At the time, I hadn't.  This book would be very tricky to adapt to the screen, in my opinion, and so I'd never really considered it.  But then I was creating a dream cast for a different book, and it got me in the dream-casting mood, and ideas started rolling in. 😉  So, here goes. Each breath I drew let into me new terror, joy, overpowering sweetness. Y'AAALLLLLLL. I maintain that the last 11+ pages of Till We Have Faces are probably the finest literature I've ever read.  Every time, I'm floored by the brilliance and the heartbreaking humanity.  Talk about a powerful depiction of the age-old conflict between God and man.  For this last recap, I don't really want to follow the same format as the previous three weeks.  Instead, I want to talk with you all about your thoughts, on the book as a whole and also on this last part specifically.   It can be a hard book to pinpoint.  Is Ungit real, or is she not?  If she is, in what way is she real?  Is "the god's" relationship with Psyche literal (i.e. sexual)?  Is the religion supposed to mirror the actual way in which God relates to us?  Or is it not?   Personally, I think Lewis's philosophical intentions are tangled up with his retellin...
