Lord, Today I Thank You For...

Image
~ The brevity of sicknesses related to stomach and throat I dread sickness.  Actually, I panic when I think that I might get a stomach bug.  BUT as much as I despise stomach bugs and sore throats, the good thing about them is that both last for a relatively short time, and they come only rarely (well, stomach bugs do, at least).  And sickness can make me thankful for when I'm healthy.  (The blessing of being able to swallow without pain lancing your throat, or being able to drink water freely without the fear that it might nauseate you, right?) ~ Lord of the Rings … ...in any form whatever, but particularly the movies, and even more particularly, the movie music;) Sorry about the poor quality (iPod, don'tcha know). I'm happy.  Muchly so. ~ The opportunity to capture this gorgeous sunset a couple months ago ~ Jessie  (Disney Channel TV show) We don't have TV, but iTunes has Jessie  episodes available to bu

The Glories of "Peter Pan"

Now, I would like to begin this by stating that though I absolutely love the book Peter Pan  (you're about to find out just how much), I'm not really a huge fan of either of the movies.  I mean, I like  them, but I'm not really crazy about either of them.  So don't expect my usual amount of fangirling over the movies, okay?;)   Now the book - the book is another story.  In fact, this book happens to be my favorite book as of right now.  Yes.  My favorite book is a children's story written in the early 1900s.  It is an unavoidable fact that I am strange.  But y'all already knew that, so...moving on;)   I watched the movies before I ever read the book, as is usually the case with me, but for some strange reason I like the book way better.  (That's unusual for me, since I generally like the movie better than it's inspiration.  I guess you could call me a movie purist instead of a book purist.  Absurd, I know;)

First Award!!!

Okie-dokie, peoples.  I've been reading blogs for quite awhile now, but the other day I received permission to actually follow one: Kiri Liz's Lianne Taimenlore (www.liannetaimenlore.blogspot.com)!  I'm ecstatic;)  Kiri Liz happened to be giving away a couple of awards, and I happened to qualify for one!;) So here are Kiri Liz's questions (and I highly recommend stopping by her blog!): What is your one weakness? Oh, I have many;)  A reasonably complete list can be seen on the "About" page, if you're of a curious sort. If you could cosplay one animated Disney character, which one would it be and why? Ooh.  (I had to look up what "cosplay" meant.)  Hmm…probably either Belle or Anna.  I would  choose  Elsa, but…the slit in that one dress goes a wee bit high. What is one lesser-known film you'd recommend? Anastasia  (1997).   Though it's scary at times, the music is good and…overall, it's just a great movie
