Lovely Blog Party | My Comfort Couples

Image
What-ho, all!  I come to you on this fine sunny Sunday just in time to squeeze in one more post for Cordy's Lovely Blog Party before it ends tomorrow.   I wanted to pay tribute to a special class of my favorite fictional couples:  my "comfort" couples, the ones who make me feel safe and happy and at home whenever they're onscreen.  The ones who make my face break out into a big sappy grin when they meet for the first time, because I know everything that's coming in their story and can't wait to watch it unfold again.  The ones who may not always be the absolute "deepest," but who soothe and entertain me nonetheless.  The ones who are just plain adorable, who are so extremely wholesome that they elicit grins and squeeps and covered-face glee simply by being their pure and charming selves. This list isn't exhaustive — there are several more couples I love who meet some or all of these criteria — but it's a start.  Here are just a few of the co...

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello again, and happy September! My good friend Rachel has kindly nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, and what better way to (theoretically) get back into the groove of blogging than with a nice, laidback Q&A?  Thank you, Rachel! Rules List the award’s official rules Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog Thank the person who nominated you   Provide a link to your nominator’s blog Answer your nominator’s questions Nominate up to 11 bloggers Ask your nominees 11 questions Notify your nominees by commenting on at least one of their blog posts Rachel's Questions 1. What was your favorite movie when you were 10 years old? Spirit:  Stallion of the Cimarron , because I had Taste™. 2. What's your favorite movie now? My Fair Lady , because — I flatter myself — I still have Taste™. 😉 Joking aside, though, it's actually interesting:  I enjoy several of my other top favorite films more.  I turn to The Parent Trap (1998) and You've Got...

Everything 'Star Wars' Blogathon || 'Star Wars' text posts that light my soul.

You're familiar with text posts, yes?  Those memes that pair a screencap from a beloved movie or TV series with a completely unrelated but somehow relevant Twitter or Tumblr post? Well, I love those things, and I have recently discovered several Star Wars -y ones on Pinterest.  Now, I don't want to oversell, but these might be the most beautiful items you'll see all day.  When I say "peak comedic content," I mean Peak Comedic Content. Let's do it. ⸻ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ✩✩✩ ⸻ You're welcome. *sweeps a bow even though I did nothing*

I WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED THIS *cries*  What-ho, all!  Today marks the beginning of Eva's and Katie's epic three-day blogathon devoted to all things Star Wars !  Huzzah. For my first (possibly only?  we don't know) contribution, I have ranked all the SW movies to date, according to My Personal & Subjective Opinion, Okay, Don't Let's Get Mad.  I doubt there'll be that many surprises on this list?  But, as always & once again, these rankings reflect my feelings and my preferences and are in no way meant as an attack on those who have different ones.  I respect all the SW movies in various ways and I respect all the SW fan opinions in various ways.  There. ⸻ #11.    Rogue One This ain't it, chief.  Not for me, at any rate.  I know a lot of people love it, and I understand why they do, but I . . . do not.  Nope, nope.  *shakes head emphatically*  It's sort of everything I don't want in a Star Wars film. 😬 #10....

Featuring:  Eight Fictional Ships That Should Have Sailed and The Girl Who's Still Mad That They Didn't.   (Which I guess means that you could consider this whole post one big SPOILER ?  Idk.  It's your call.) ⎼ ⎼ ⎼ You know what I'm talking about.  We all have those couples who needle at the back of our brains because they didn't get the ending we thought they deserved.  And sometimes the best way to cope with the injustices of a cruel team of creative directors fate is to just thrash it all out. So here we are. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it does cover the couples who've been most actively milling around in my mind lately.  And I gotta say, I've loved writing this post, delving back into all the reasons why I love them and why, in MY fictional universe, they all live happily ever after. ♡ (I defy you to watch some of these fanvids and not agree with me.) ⎼⎼⎼⎼ ❀ Rey & Poe ❀ "You know what you are?"
