Red Carpet Eye Candy . . . {8}

The frustrating thing is when some of the red carpets aren't actually red . . . This is one that's had to grow on me.  I didn't love it the first time I saw it, but now I like the illusory feel of the sheer fabric around the bodice and the ruffles on the skirt.  And, of course, the color is gorgeous.  I like how elegant and drape-y this is; very statuesque.  It's simple, but the detailing at the top adds a little fanciness, which I like.  I like how simple yet mesmerizing this is.  Kind of mermaid-y, y'know?  There's not too much fuss about the look, but it's lovely.  I also like the hair and earrings.  I'm picky about big flounces on skirts, and this one is riiiiiight on the line for me.  I think I'd like it better if the ruffles were the same color as the rest of the dress (whether because of more volume or actually different fabric color, the skirt is creamier than the bodice/torso), but I still like i...

My Top 5 Red Carpet Looks So Far

Image
As you all know, I love looking at red carpets and picking out which dresses I like.  I've had a series going for a while now on looks that catch my eye; and today I thought it might be fun to share 'the cream of the crop,' as far as I'm concerned. ;)   I went through and decided which were my favorites fairly quickly, so this list might not be entirely accurate.  But it is to the best of my current knowledge and recollection, though of course it's subject to change at a moment's notice. :-P Some of these I've shared before and some of them are new, but you'll see an affinity for clean lines, draping, simplicity, elegance, originality, delicate jewelry & makeup accents, and thoughtful color selection in my choices.   Hope you enjoy! :) . . . . . . . . . .  Actress: Rachel Brosnahan What I love: the color: absolutely the perfect shade of red for her the style: it's not one I would wear myself, but it's ...

We haven't done one of these in a while, and I'm on spring break so I feel like doing ALL THE BLOGGING but I'm also #lazy so I don't feel like doing anything that requires that much mental exercise.  So here we are. :-P Enjoy! I love how simple and effortless this is.  The Pinterest caption mentioned the detail, and it really does look like there's some amazing detail close up.  I also like the way this was styled -- the bangle isn't my style, but I like how it adds a touch of "hardness" to keep it from being too feminine, if that's what Amanda was going for.  And the hair and makeup go nicely. Awww.  This is just cute and sweet.  Look how happy she looks! :D  The pink is luscious, and the turquoise ring is a nice pop of contrast. Yaaaaaassss.  Blake Lively knows how it's done.  (I mean, I haven't seen/liked all of her red carpet looks, but most of the time, yes.  And she knows what styles work for her.  ...

I love that I have these as filler post possibilities. :D I love the patterning and the colors of this piece.  Very simple, fresh, and pretty. :) The whole look of the piece is so cool, and works so well for Emma Stone.  Her styling is awesome, too.  The dress makes me think of the "flapper" style, for some reason. I love the red and the patterning (brocade??  That's just what comes to mind, probably not accurate), and this is probably one of the few instances where that kind of cut-out style would appeal to me.   This is so pwetty.  Very classy and elegant. :) As I've mentioned before, this isn't always my favorite color, but I've been finding more and more red carpet looks incorporating it that grow on me the more I look at them.  I think Carrie Underwood pulls this off well, even if it's still not her BEST color.  It's still very pretty, and one thing that CAN be said for the shade is that it really lets the ...

I've sort of run out of clever ways in which to start these posts, so . . . yeah.  You know the drill. :-P I like Jennifer Morrison's style, but usually it's too plunging for me.  Needless to say, I was happy to find this pretty, modest outfit. :)  J-Mo (I heard the rest of the cast call her that in an interview and it was adorable) definitely knows how to style, that's for sure.   I love the wine color of this dress, and just how slinky and simple it is.  Plus, it also just looks La La Land , doesn't it? The token Cinderella dress. :D  (Actually, though, Emma Watson's is also Cinderellic, and so is Jennifer Laurence's . . . oh, well.)  The color is gorgeous on Blake Lively, there's just the right amount of floofiness (not too much), and basically it just looks great. :)  I also like the sequined beading or whatever that is on the top, and how it continues down into the skirt. Auli'i Cravalho seems so cute and sweet....

Hello, lovelies!  I hope your Christmas was awe-filled and awesome!  (Okay, that was really weird and cheesy.) It's that time again!  Here are some more red carpet ensembles that I really like ;) THIS.  At first I was a little wary, trying to decide if the two different shades of pink, combined with her (beautiful) red hair really worked as well as all that, but now I have decided.   It's awesome.  Such a cute, clean, modest crop top, and it's elegant because it's paired with a skirt instead of pants.  And the styling, with a lighter lip than some of Emma Stone's other red carpet looks, and the hair in such a pretty, simple braid?  Love it.   I'd appreciate a higher neckline *aHERM* and a more closed side, but other than that I really like this look.  This may count as my token "starry" dress for the post ;D  But it also kind of reminds me of water…hmm.  Anyway, it's lovely.   Okay, so this might n...
