Why I Love…{Arwen Undomiel}

Image
"And she was called Undomiel, for she was the Evenstar of her people." No, in case you were misled by the quote, I am not well-read in the Lord of the Rings  books.  (I'm sorry, I'm sorry!  I plan to read them all, and I've started them before, but they're SO gigantic and can be slightly hard to follow.  But there are parts of them that I already love, and like I said, I'm going to read them eventually.  I will!)  I just happen to have read that quote, and love it.  Know why?  Because (apart from its obvious poetic power), it describes one of my favorite people.  Know who she is?  You're right!  Arwen Undomiel!  *gasp*  How did  you guess??;) Now, as to why.  Why do I love Arwen so much?  Sure, she's beautiful, but to some people, she doesn't even have a real purpose in the trilogy.  (For the record, this is my reaction when I hear that - ) Don't mess with my Lord of the Rin...

The Completely Random and Useless Tag

Image
Okie-dokie, so Kiri Liz (of  Lianne Taimenlore ) 's sister, Jessa Bri, has created a tag, whose title you may read above (and below…).  ;D You all know I love such delights, so here goes:) Rules (copied from Kiri Liz's blog) : 1.  Copy this tag and answer all of the questions. 2.  Mention me, Jessa Bri, and link back to my blog. 3.  Comment on this post and leave a link to your post with the tag. 4.  Feel free to tag people…or don't tag anyone at all! Favorite color? Quite honestly, I don't have one.  I do, however, tend to prefer blues, greens, and purples, typically in that order. What book are you currently reading? Les Miserables  by Victor Hugo.  Which is pretty fantastic.  And rather overwhelmingly long… Popcorn or pickles? Well, as I can't currently have popcorn (dratted braces and all…), I'd have to say pickles. What is your favorite way to eat raisins? Raisins aren't my favorite, ...

Sunflower Blogger Award

Image
*NOTE:   Apparently the award is the Beautiful Blogger award, but…the questions were the same!:) Miss Laurie of  Old-Fashioned Charm  nominated her readers for the Sunflower Award, and I love answering questions like these:)  My warmest thanks to you, Miss Laurie!  So here are my answers: 1.  Do you like pulling practical jokes on people?   Not really.  I intensely dislike it when they're played on me, so 't'wouldn't be very nice to play them on others, would it?  That wouldn't be Christian, Miss Shirley!  That just wouldn't be Christian! 2.  Do you knit, crochet, cross stitch or do any other needlework?  If not would you like to learn?   A little, and very ill.  I sew (barely), and not efficiently, and I've recently tried knitting and crocheting, without much luck.  However, I would greatly love to improve myself;) 3.  What was the last period drama you watched?   Lorna Doone.   W...

Lord, Today I Thank You For...

Image
~ The brevity of sicknesses related to stomach and throat I dread sickness.  Actually, I panic when I think that I might get a stomach bug.  BUT as much as I despise stomach bugs and sore throats, the good thing about them is that both last for a relatively short time, and they come only rarely (well, stomach bugs do, at least).  And sickness can make me thankful for when I'm healthy.  (The blessing of being able to swallow without pain lancing your throat, or being able to drink water freely without the fear that it might nauseate you, right?) ~ Lord of the Rings … ...in any form whatever, but particularly the movies, and even more particularly, the movie music;) Sorry about the poor quality (iPod, don'tcha know). I'm happy.  Muchly so. ~ The opportunity to capture this gorgeous sunset a couple months ago ~ Jessie  (Disney Channel TV show) We don't have TV, but iTunes has Jessie  e...

The Glories of "Peter Pan"

Image
                                   Now, I would like to begin this by stating that though I absolutely love the book Peter Pan  (you're about to find out just how much), I'm not really a huge fan of either of the movies.  I mean, I like  them, but I'm not really crazy about either of them.  So don't expect my usual amount of fangirling over the movies, okay?;)   Now the book - the book is another story.  In fact, this book happens to be my favorite book as of right now.  Yes.  My favorite book is a children's story written in the early 1900s.  It is an unavoidable fact that I am strange.  But y'all already knew that, so...moving on;)   I watched the movies before I ever read the book, as is usually the case with me, but for some strange reason I like the book way better.  (That's unusual for me, since I generally like the movi...

First Award!!!

Image
Okie-dokie, peoples.  I've been reading blogs for quite awhile now, but the other day I received permission to actually follow one: Kiri Liz's Lianne Taimenlore (www.liannetaimenlore.blogspot.com)!  I'm ecstatic;)  Kiri Liz happened to be giving away a couple of awards, and I happened to qualify for one!;) So here are Kiri Liz's questions (and I highly recommend stopping by her blog!): What is your one weakness? Oh, I have many;)  A reasonably complete list can be seen on the "About" page, if you're of a curious sort. If you could cosplay one animated Disney character, which one would it be and why? Ooh.  (I had to look up what "cosplay" meant.)  Hmm…probably either Belle or Anna.  I would  choose  Elsa, but…the slit in that one dress goes a wee bit high. What is one lesser-known film you'd recommend? Anastasia  (1997).   Though it's scary at times, the music is good and…overall, it's just a great mov...

Music Video

OK, so, I realize this is random, but yesterday I had a positively inordinate amount of pleasure in creating this music video to "Innocent" by Taylor Swift.  "Innocent" is probably my favorite of her songs, so I had a lot of fun, as I said;)  Enjoy!
