A Look at the Wardrobe of…{a Persian queen}

The costumes in One Night with the King are stunning, particularly those of Hadassah (or Esther, whichever you prefer).  She actually wears so many different outfits that I'm picking my top five for the sake of conciseness.

So here we go!:D


The Royal Blue dress:


Gorgeous.  It sort of reflects the passion and sadness of the scene.  


The Rosebud dress:


Don't you dare laugh at my title;)  So anyways, the gown.  A little pink, perhaps, but beautiful.  (By the by, I aDORE all of Hadassah's headdresses!)


The Multi-colored dress:


Okay, to be fair, it's difficult to come up with good titles for these dresses!xD  This is the dress Hadassah wears when she receives the news of the plot to assassinate Xerxes, if I am correct, and I love it.  This actress can really pull off any outfit, it seems.



The Reading dress:

You can't see it very well in this picture, but this is a very pretty dress.  I love the simplicity of it, but then the gorgeous sequin work down the seams.


The Chess-game dress:


(At least, I think that's what they were doing in that scene.)  This is my favorite of Hadassah's gowns.  The combination of that stunning blue with silver detailing is a show-stopper for me.  

So there you are:)  There's my personal low-down on Hadassah's dresses.  All of her outfits are lovely, and the fact that there are so many of them is delightful!

    I am not a fan of this era, and I normally don't really like the fashion, but you almost change my mind. Heehee, I love the way you name your dresses - I always give dresses in my wardrobe posts weird names - especially the Rosebud dress. Hadassah has some lovely dresses... very unique and very exotic. My favourite is the 'Multicoloured dress.' As I said, I normally don't really like dresses of this era, but I loved the ones in this post. Good job! I always love costume posts! :-)

    Thanks! Yes, normally these kinds of costumes aren't the best, but I do think they did an excellent job in this movie:)

    I also love the multi-colored dress! And her headdresses. Hearts them!

Ivanhoe (1997) movie review

I think you all know this, but I am a rather big Ivanhoe fan.  I read the book for the first time a number of months ago and absolutely fell in love.  Well, now that I loved the book, I must needs try out the film adaptations, mustn't I? My first preference would have been for the 1982 version starring Anthony Andrews and Olivia Hussey, as I'd seen clips of that and they looked decent.  Unfortunately, however, my library system doesn't have it, and neither does YouTube or Netflix or other such commodities:(  Thus, I had to content myself with first seeing the 1997 miniseries version, which I just finished yesterday. Here are my thoughts;) Opening scene:   Why is it starting with Ivanhoe being flogged?  This makes little sense. *sigh*  Overall…I'm torn.  Certain things were done extremely well, and some were done…not so well.  The main problem, put succinctly, is that it kept making me have this reaction so many times: Seriously, though.  I mean, I loved t

BBC Robin Hood TV Series, Season 1 Review

First off, this part was the CUTEST. THING. EVER. *takes deep, shuddery breath* Okay, peoples. I'm going to try my very best to get through this review.  It'll be hard.  Because what even is this. For starters, let me say that I have only watched the first season of the BBC Robin Hood .  This is because the show is going off Netflix on February 9th *sniffle*, so I knew there was no way I'd be able to squeeze watched 26 episodes of a very feelsy show into a mere couple of weeks.  So I've watched the first season and will leave it at that until I can find some other way to watch the rest.  It was also because I know That Which Happens At The End Of Season Two, and I was so not  about to put myself through that when there was a danger of not being able to watch the third season.  There is a possibility that I might just skip the second season and watch the third, even though that would mean missing so much of Djaq and Will and even though I've he
