Tolkien Blog Party || Middle-earth Fan Videos
Let's kick off the momentous event that is Hamlette's annual Tolkien blog party with a nice batch of Middle-earthy fan videos, shall we? You all know how much I love these things. 😃
Here you go! A handful of beautiful artistic creations guaranteed to make you feel a lot of feelings & produce an urge to start the entire trilogy all over again.
✥
2:21-2:40. "You think it is love? Are you ready to die for it?"
I am not okay. Thanks for asking.
✥
Ahhh, I love the way this one evokes the camaraderie between all the characters. Such happy. Much exhilarating. Very yes.
✥
Parent-child, mentor-mentee feels for the win.
✥
This song is a bop and so is this vid. #ihavespoken

WELL THANKS FOR THAT NOW I'M EMOTIONAL.
Things to be prepared for:
- The best version of that two-minute violin intro I've ever seen (probably).
- A tragic AU backstory of Bard and his deceased wife using clips from Dracula.
- Some of the best dialogue mixing I've ever seen.
- Way too many feels, in general.
Do you like fanvids?
What are some of your favorites?
Ooooooh yes. Fan videos! *happiness* You know, I really really like this, because fan videos are a way for me to "peek into" a fandom that I can't actually join myself because of Reasons, and find some enjoyment in the characters, imagery, costumes, etc. I had fun watching these. I'm glad you shared them. :D
ReplyDelete"Glitter and Gold" is indeed a #bop ;) And that "Sleeping at Last" video? SOMEBODY HOLD ME I'M EMOTIONALLLL
Yes, yes!! I completely relate to this. There are some fandoms in which I only participate vicariously, through fanvids and fan art and the like. :D I'm so glad you enjoyed these!
DeleteRIGHT THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN'
Ah, thanks for sharing! Those last three weeds my favorites and utterly broke me to pieces. I watched the Glitter and Good one yesterday and had it stuck in my head the whole day afterwards. :)
ReplyDeleteRight?! I really love "Glitter & Gold" -- I first heard it through someone's Instagram story and I was like, "ooh, that one! I like that one! another!!" ;D
DeleteI just realized that spellcheck changed "were" to "weeds". XD Sorry about that!
Delete:D
Haha, that happens to me all the time. xD
DeleteYesssssss fan videos :') *happy tears*
ReplyDeleteALSO. I have no idea why I wasn't following you here but now I am haha I think I'm following you on Instagram too??
Anyway, thanks for sharing all these amazing videos! I needed to cry haha
Yes!!!
DeleteOh, haha! No worries! Yes I think we've both sort of thought we were following each other but not actually doing it?! Lol. Now it's rectified! :D
Haha, anytime. *bows*
Took me 3 days to get these properly watched and savored. So delicious! I've seen footage from Dracula Untold before in backstory-for-Bard fanvids and it works soooooo well. (And Dracula Untold is actually quite good! I like it enough to own a copy. In fact, it's the only horror-ish movie I own. But it's not scary, it's very meaty and drama-ful. And, yes, lots of sword fights and battles. But it's not creepy.)
ReplyDeleteI love that people are using Dracula Untold for Bard's backstory! One of my other friends watched it and liked it, as well. I was never very interested in it bc, you know, Dracula ain't my thing. But now I may be reconsidering. ;)
DeleteIt doesn't retell the book Dracula, it's a backstory. That gives him a really beautiful, sympathetic reason for becoming a vampire (and they put a cool twist on that process too). Plus, you know, Luke Evans in a period drama...
DeleteYep, that's what she told me, that it's an origin story. Still never appealed to me, but my mind is opening. ;-P
DeleteI mean, as you say: Luke Evans in a period drama. And Sarah Gadon in another period drama. And Luke Evans and Sarah Gadon TOGETHER in a period drama. <3
OOOOOOHHHHH THESE ARE FABULOUS!!
ReplyDeleteFan videos make my heart happy :)
And that Glitter and Gold one!! Like yessss! A bop indeed!
I'm so glad you liked them, too! Fan videos are some of my favorite things. :D
