a list of things I would not be averse to doing at some point in my life (don't call it a bucket list! ;))

Welp, you asked . . . ;)

I talk about this a little in my Ask Me Anything answers (which, by the way, will hopefully be coming in mid-October, so if you have any questions for me, click here!), but the whole idea of bucket lists, for some reason, isn't "my thing."  That being said, there are a couple things that I think it would be cool to do at some point and that (I think ;)) I'd be willing to work towards.

- Go to Disney World

First thing to come to mind when people ask me about my bucket list.  Totally serious. ;D

I've just heard really good things, fam, and I love Disney, and just . . . I don't know, man.  (Of course, I'm not usually one for rides and such, but I'm sure there'd be a couple that I'd be interested in.  Right??)

- Be a published (and pretty successful) author + ministry worker

I mean, this is what I "want to do" with my life, so . . . yeah.  Kinda had to be on the list.

- Also somehow be a singer/musical theatre performer, too

OKAY I ADMIT IT I WANT TO SING WITH MY SOPRANO VOICE AND PLAY A PATHOS-FILLED CHARACTER AND HAVE PEOPLE APPLAUD AT THE END.  There, I said it. :-P

For real, I do really want to be in a musical sometime.  I may discover that I liked the idea of theatre performance better than the actual execution, but we won't know unless we try, right? ;)  In case you're curious and because I think about this on a regular basis, my dream roles are as follows (right now):
  1. Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady
  2. Julie Jordan in Carousel
  3. Fantine in Les Miserables
  4. Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera (if I could have a few problematic things removed :-P)
  5. Tzipporah in The Prince of Egypt (I just want to sing "Deliver Us" and do that quavery Hebrew thing, tbh)
  6. Anastasia in Anastasia
  7. + others that I don't remember right now

- Visit France, England, Italy (for Rome) and especially Greece

There are others, but those are the ones I've been thinking about the most recently.

I think that my kind of tourism will literally just be walking around looking very intensely at things.  And then sitting and looking intensely, and possibly writing or reading or sketching (ha, you wish), but probably just sitting and drinking everything in.  Honestly, that's what I want to do.  Not take a bunch of pictures, maybe not even go on a bunch of tours, just walk and watch.

- Own a cute apartment/house and decorate the heck out of it

Sometimes I see things in stores or magazines and file them away in my mind for future décor reference. ;)

That about sums it up, for now!

  1. This post is awesome! I really enjoyed this, Olivia!!!

After the first time I watched Les Mis I spent months imagining myself as Fantine on Broadway. Finally I grew tired of Les Mis and have banned the songs from our house...

  2. That’s a reasonable list! I went to Disney World when I was 10 and had a good time, but that was 18 years ago. Probably time for a revisit!

Oh and I love the one about getting your own apartment/home and being able to decode it!

    1. I've only been in one "real" production in my life, and it was not a musical, but I loved it. I really want to try musicals! OKAY SO YOU UNDERSTAND! It's just a fun voice thing. xD

  6. OKAY BUT A BLOGGER FRIENDS MEET UP AT DISNEY CAN I GET AN AMEN???

If it's in God's plan for you to be a ministry worker and a successful author and perform in musical theater, I have EVERY REASON to believe it will happen. Because you have the heart and the talent and the enthusiasm for it. ♥ And if by some reason it's NOT what God has planned for you (and I say that only because I can't presume on His beautiful plan for your life) I know without a doubt He has something even more marvelous planned. *hugs tight*
But seriously, I can't wait to see you "go... live your dreams". :D

Also your dream roles are EPIC and I can totally see you doing them. <3 (I feel the same about "Deliver Us". XD)

OKAY ANOTHER IDEA--blogging friends meetup/travel to a foreign country!!! (This is starting to sound like a teenage tv show....haha)

Yessss. I can't wait to decorate my own place someday. :)

Ack, thank you!! (Hahaha, yes. Also, did I know that you're a Prince of Egypt fan?? I must have . . . )

      I mean I'd take that, too . . .

It'll be so fun!! To see all of our individual styles come out . . . fun times. :)

And Sarah, DON'T BE RIDICULOUS, YOU WOULD BE SO WELCOME.

ESPECIALLY THE MUSICAL THEATRE ONE!!! Oh, Julie Jordan would be so much fun!! Yes, Christine! (Only that high note. Ehhh. :P) And ANASTASIA YES OHHH YES DOUBLE YES!!!

I think if I ever travelled anywhere (I'd love to go to Italy the most, I think), I'd be fascinated in the culture and the food (and the landscape obviously) the most. :P

    Lovely post!!!

  8. Tis a wonderful list, Olivia! :) You are very gifted and talented, and if it is God's plan for you to do those things, then I know you will do great! :)
And haha :-P that last one though is pretty much me, too. :)

  10. This list is wonderful!! I do have a bucket list, but there definitely is a difference between this sort of list and a bucket list. This list seems like things I know you'll end up doing.

I haven't been to Disney World, but my family and I have been to Disney Land a few times and it's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! (I still want to go with friends though. It seems like that would be a completely different adventure.) There's lots of different things to do if you don't care for roller coasters or thrill rides. I'll bet you would like Peter Pan's Flight. It's just so simple and aesthetically pleasing. It's like jumping into that classic movie we all love.

I love all of your dream roles. I don't know them all, but I bet you would be great. Musical Theatre is so very close to my heart. (I'm like, "God, family, theatre, pizza." ;) )

I hope you are able to acomplish these things!! God bless! <3

    1. Yeah, I thought there was a difference, but I wasn't entirely sure. xD What are some of the things on your bucket list?

AHHHHH, thank you! It makes me feel better to know that there are other things I can enjoy. And Peter Pan's Flight DOES sound like all kinds of whimsical and aesthetic and all those great things. <3

Awww, thanks! (GIRL YES. That's a fabulous list. ;D)

Thank you! You too! <3 <3

  11. Somewhere, I still have a little scrapbook filled with ideas for decorating my house. I wonder where that got to?

Great list! I like your idea of tourism too. Just walk around and look at stuff. I'd be taking photos too, but I do spend a lot of time just gazing and absorbing when I'm playing tourist. And chasing down my kids. Always chasing down my kids.

    1. You should find it! ;)

Thanks! I'd probably take a few photos, but yeah, mainly just "gazing and absorbing" (a perfect way to describe it!). Haha, I would imagine that would throw in some different logistical challenges, that's true.

  12. Disney World is amazing! For years it's been my fam's favorite vacation destination. You'd love it. ;)

I MUST travel to Europe someday! Your definition of tourism sounds perfect.

I honestly can't wait to have a home of my own to decorate! It's been nice having a little taste of it with putting my college dorm together. :)

    1. Eeek! That's so cool that you've gone with your family. :D Yeah, I think I would!

      We both must!

Oh, yeah! I'm still at community college at the moment, so I haven't had the dorm experience yet, but I imagine that'd be neat decorating opportunity, too.
