My List for the Reams of Rereads Blog Event

Have you guys heard about Reams of Rereads yet?  It will be hosted by Eva over at Coffee, Classics, and Craziness this October, and basically, the idea is to make some time to do some perhaps long overdue rereading!  Eva realizes that we're often caught up in pegging away at our TBR lists, and that can prevent us from devoting time to rereading the books we've loved, enjoyed, or just wanted to take another look at.

In preparation for said intentional rereading in October, participants are encouraged to compile a list of books they'd be interested in rereading during this event.  There's no requirement or expectation to read every book on the list in October, but it's a starting point.

I'm excited to participate in this; it looks like it'll be a lot of fun, and I think you should join, too!  (Psst, you don't have to have a blog to do so -- comments'll see you through just as well! ;))  Anyway, here's my list:

The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis

Behold the Dawn by K.M. Weiland

A Flame Shall Spring from the Embers by Heidi Pekarek

The Book of Sorrows by Frank Wangerin, Jr.

Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis

The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

The Hunting of the Last Dragon by Sherryl Jordan

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

The Hobbit or The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

The Princess Bride by William Goldman

Can't wait!! :)

Here's that link again if you'd care to join up -- all the info you'll need will be in Eva's post!

  2. Ooh, this looks like such fun! I believe I shall have to participate in this! :)

Also, your book list looks great! To be honest, I actually haven't read any of those books...... I'll need to get to some of those sometime after this event. ;)

  3. Ohhh, this is such a great list, Olivia! I'm afraid I've only read 5 of these! :-P

Till We Have Faces just arrived in my mailbox today! I bought it after reading your review (it sounds SO good!), & I am so very excited to read it soon!

I am SO very glad to hear that you might be reading The Blue Castle again!!! It is one of my tip-top favorites, so I am hoping you fall in love with it the second time around! (I have a sort-of-but-not-really-related question: Have you read A Tangled Web by L.M. Montgomery?)

Here are some delightful classics that I would love to revisit next month:
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
    Emma by Jane Austen
The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery
The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder
The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
Betsy & Joe by Maud Hart Lovelace
The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
Emily of New Moon by L. M. Montgomery
    Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
A Lantern in Her Hand by Bess Streeter Aldrich

    1. Thanks, Catie!! Ooh, which ones have you read?

*SQUEALS* Oh my gosh, did you really?!?! Aaaahhhhhh, that makes me so happy! I really hope you like it. *bites nails* A couple people who've read it at my recommendation didn't love it as much as I did, but . . . I guess we'll see?? :D

I'm interested to see what I think of TBC this time, too, since I didn't love it the first time. (I haven't read that one yet, no! But I do want to read more Montgomery, so hopefully someday! :))

Ooh, awesome list!! THE WITCH OF BLACKBIRD POND YES HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THAT ONE?!?! I may have to reread that one, too. ;D A Lantern in Her Hand is so good. <33 One of these days I do want to try Rebecca.

    2. Well, to be perfectly & entirely honest, I have *ahem* already read a few random parts in Till We Have Faces, and I really do think I'm going to love it! :-P The writing style is so poignant & beautiful that it somehow reminds me of poetry!

Oh yes, I LOVE the Witch of Blackbird Pond!!! I only just read it for the first time this summer and totally fell in love! I actually read the whole thing aloud to my 4 sisters in less than a day! Haha! It was THAT good! <3

It's probably been at least 3 years since I last read A Lantern in Her Hand, but it was my absolute favorite book for a while back when I was in my early teens! I cried every time I read it...especially at the end! ;-)

    3. I have read The Silver Chair, The Blue Castle, The Hobbit, The Return of the King, & Peter Pan--and I love each of them! :-)

    4. Eeeee, yes, isn't Till We Have Faces poetic? Just gorgeous and GAHH. Have you finished it yet??

Isn't it the best?!?! Haha, wow! Yeah, I do need to reread it. <3

I've only read it once so far, but I remember it being REALLY good.

      Ooh, cool! :)

  4. Wait, you're ONLY going to read Return of the King? But my dear, how can you BYPASS The Fellowship and The Two Towers?! (Sorry, I'm just one of those crazy people who HAS to watch TV series episodes in order, and read book series chronologically.) :P

(Obviously you won't have time to read the whole LOTR series, but I just meant... why the last one? ;))

Ahh, I love Peter Pan. <3 It's so clever and cute! Also, I haven't read the Blue Castle yet! I must remedy that. :D

    1. Heehee, well, I've actually already read The Fellowship and The Two Towers on my most recent LotR reread cycle, so Return is technically the next one I SHOULD read. ;D

Yaaassss, same. <333 I didn't totally love The Blue Castle when I read it, so I'm looking forward to seeing if my opinion changes.

Comments make my day. Seriously. I'd be so happy if you commented. :)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
