Announcing the 'Till We Have Faces' Read-along!

Hello, everyone!  Thank you all so much for your feedback when I brought this up as a possibility a while back.  After a decent amount of consideration, I've decided to host a read-along of C.S. Lewis's Till We Have Faces, to take place from January 3-31, 2020.

We will be taking the book in four segments, reading between five and seven chapters per week.  (They're pretty short chapters, don't worry.)  Here's how I've scheduled it out:

January 3-10: Part 1 Chapters 1-7
January 10-17: Part 1 Chapters 8-14
January 17-24: Part 1 Chapters 15-21
January 24-31: Part 2 Chapters 1-4

My plan is to do a recap post each week, sharing some of my own personal highlights as well as a few discussion questions.  Hopefully we can all dialogue in the comments ⎼ or, of course, feel free to create your own posts about the book!

This is one of my tip-top favorites of tip-top favorite books, and I'm really excited to experience it with you all.  I hope a lot of you can participate, and I can't wait to start the new year off with a bang by revisiting this exquisite novel. 😊  (Am I overselling?  I feel like I might be overselling.)

Here's a button to help spread the word; please take it and post it wherever you wish!

  8. YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely not overselling! I think this may be Lewis's greatest work (though Mere Christianity does give it a run for the money).

Oh, same here. Speaking from a purely technical standpoint (let alone the thematic material), I think it's probably the best.

  9. I DON'T KNOW HOW I'M GOING TO DO THIS BUT I WANT TO DO THIS.

Maybe it won't be that hard?? I mean, a read-a-long is easier to participate in than a blog party, methinks? *scratches head* It's been awhile since I've done one. But heck, whatever, sign me up and hopefully I won't fall overboard on the journey! ;P

    1. Yes, yes, do!!

I mean, I would think so? I don't think you really have to do anything other than read the book, unless you want to. But I know even that can be a struggle with life/busy-ness, so . . . like you said, we'll just hope for the best! :)

  10. Followed the link from Hamlette's The Edge of the Precipice blog. Hopefully you don't mind a guy following along on the read through. Till We Have Faces is my favorite Lewis work and one of my most favorite books of all.

    1. Thrilled to have you! I always love finding other people who love TWHF most of Lewis's work, especially because I don't find a ton of them. :)

Comments make my day. Seriously. I'd be so happy if you commented. :)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
