What They Did for Love

Father
Created a world with painstaking care;
Peopling it lovingly, only to watch it fall.
Amazingly, He did what none else would dare:
Sent His Son to rescue and redeem all -
But at what a dreadful cost.

Son
Confined Himself to fallen man's domain,
Decades to serve His own subjects - what an unbelievable aim.
The Ruler of the cosmos trapped in a body consumed by pain,
Hung on a splintering cross of shame.
Oh, what a dreadful cost.

Spirit
Remained behind in a dark and dreary world
To comfort, exhort, those who followed the Light.
A shining pledge of divine victory unfurled,
Triumphing over our desperate plight -
A hope-filled reminder of that dreadful cost.

Trinity
Then, on that blessed third day,
Love conquered the blackest schemes of hate.
The tomb is empty, our sins rolled away,
And the second coming let us joyfully await.

That's what They did for love.

Happy Easter to you all!!!  He is risen!  Never forget to what lengths God will go to save all that is lost.

Comments make my day. Seriously. I'd be so happy if you commented. :)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
