Awash With Glory

I walked down the hill, asking the Lord,

"What do You wish to show me?"

Worried I'd missed His timing,

Concerned there was somehow now nothing He could reveal

in this gathering gloom--

Then I rounded the bend, and I saw.

The full majesty of an October sunset shone forth,

Advancing from a distant peak as from Mount Zion itself.

The firmament shot through and suffused with holy fire,

The pavement of the dwelling place of the Most High

 awash with His glory.

To the left, falling into a quasi-display of the Northern Lights;

To the right, eddying into flawless brushstrokes of pink and lilac.

And with the sight came a surety:

God is.
God loves.

And then there's this, because everyone should have the chance to see this picture.

  2. Wow, you wrote this?! It's so beautiful! :) I write poems (different to that - I tend to do rhyming words ones) but nothing quite so beautiful. I think I may have to read it three times over. :D

    1. Oh, and also, those last two lines give me shivers. The good kind. "God is. God loves." Amen. :)

    2. Aww, thank you so much, Miss Meg! Oh, you do? That's so awesome--I admire people who write rhyming poetry. I can do it sometimes but usually it just comes out rather trite and awful. So the people who can do it and work at it successfully deserve a lot of admiration, in my opinion;) Pish-tush! I'm sure yours are BEAUTIFUL. Daww, thanks:D I'm so glad it gave you shivers! That makes me happy:)

    3. Thank you, as a matter of fact, I've shown you one of my poems before. :) If you are curious, then it was on your part three of the "Ask Me Anything" you did sometime around May, and it was in the comments. Those are the kind of poems I write. :D

    2. Your welcome :) I love sunsets - I know what exactly what you mean, although I am not at all able to put it into words the way you do. Looking at them you can just SEE and FEEL the wonderful presence of God.

Maybe you could name him. What about Cedar? Of course you don't have to ;)

Comments make my day. Seriously. I'd be so happy if you commented. :)

I've gotten really bad about replying in a timely manner, but it's always my intention to do so eventually. (Even though it doesn't always happen. ;))
