Bluebirds' Memory Nest

I don't know why it's taken me so long to get around to this!  My friend Erudessa put together a new blog meme known as the Memory Nest, and she kindly asked me if I'd be interested in getting it going! Needless to say, I was;)

Here's what's what (taken from her blog via Emma's post, because apparently I can't find Erudessa's original post):

Instead of having to answer questions or tell random facts about yourself {like a normal tag} you make up random nonsense that starts with:
'When I grow up and have my own house' And then list a random fact. It can be true example: 'When I grow up and have my own house, I am going to learn to play the Violin', or serious, 'When I grow up and have my own house, I want and Old English Garden with a sun dial' or complete nonsense like, 'When I grow up and have my own house, I am going to make a different chocolate dessert everyday.'
Instead of an 'awards tag' it's a Memory Nest. We are helping each other build a nest made out of Memories. And instead of 'tagging' a certain number of people that have to answer questions, you 'peck' ONE other person. One thing, is that this can last as long as our imaginations hold out because we can come up with the most ridiculous things and never say the same thing (I know that you eventually run out of random facts about yourself when answering tags) but as long as we have imaginations this can go on and on!!

Rules:

1.)  Thank the person that 'pecked' you.  (Thank you, Erudessa!)
2.)  List five things that start with "when I grow up and have my own house..." (they can be true, or utterly ridiculous, whatever you feel like writing :-)).
3.)'Peck' one other person and let them know you have done so.

When I grow up and have my own house, I am seriously considering saving up enough money to buy one of these refrigerators.

When I grow up and have my own house, I want part of it to be covered with wisteria.

And this is totes how it'll look.

When I grow up and have my own house, I won't keep any meat in it.

When I grow up and have my own house, can I have a movie-sized library?

When I grow up and have my own house, I want it to be a sort of haven, so I hope I can achieve the perfect blend of rustic, floral, calming simplicity :)

I peck Naomi!

  1. Oh my goodness! That refrigerator would so freak me out! I'd go downstairs at night to get a drink and think someone was about to pounce on me! Eek! I had no idea they made refrigerators like that. :D

You want your house to be a "sort of haven." Oh! I like that. With "the perfect blend of rustic, floral, calming simplicity." Okay...that's just beautiful. And yes. A home should always be a haven--a safe, peaceful, comfortable place.

...With men stuck in refrigerators!! Haha! :) (Sorry, I just can't get over that...I never saw such a refrigerator before. Seriously, do they really make those things? For real?)

Good answers, Olivia! I'm glad you finally found time to do this. I enjoyed it! :D

    1. Hahaha! It also lights up to support the whole "Han Solo in carbonate" thing. Which would make it even more freaky;)

Yes! Aww, thanks *blushes* I hope it can happen sometime:) And you're right--homes should always be safe and restful.

Heehee! I don't know if they make them anymore…I think I read that it was one of the Star Wars merchandise flops. It does have a point, if you've seen the SW movies, so it's not just a totally random guy in a refrigerator, if that helps:D

Thank you! So am I, it was fun!:)

    2. Oh no! It lights up? Now you're positively frightening me! (Just teasing!) If you ever manage to procure one, I've got to come and see it, because it sounds extremely interesting and now I'm curious to see how it works! ;)

That does help, actually. ;) I've never seen the Star Wars movies so I didn't get the reference, but now I understand better why you would like a refrigerator like that. I can totally see how it would be cool to have something that goes along with a movie that you really like. :)

  5. This was awesome!

I 'get' the fridge Olivia! Although I would like a fridge like that I think I would go for the rug. There is something in what Miss March said about approaching it in the dark that might be unsettling! ;)

A wisteria covered house?! What a wonderful idea! You're house would smell like a candle all through the spring and summer.

Annnd, who doesn't want a fantastic library?!

Yes! And it'd make me think of Anne of Green Gables and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and all the awesome, wholesome, nostalgic books…Smelling like a candle! That's lovely!:D

      Exactly;)

  7. Wisteria? You need to come to the Deep South then :) (Although maybe of course you already live here. I don't know, and you sure don't have to tell me. But in case you DON'T know, wisteria grows wild around here, and it's the loveliest thing ever :) )

    A movie-sized library . . . ahhhhhhhhhhhh . . .

Hey, is that Han Solo? I mean in the refrigerator? (Just a random guess.)
